"For the Record" made its debut at Burning Man 2026 as an art car playing tribute to physical media. It features a clear dance floor, 8' diameter spinning record, and is highway legal. This was a collaboration with lighting by Matt Dohlen and project management by Santos Design and Arts. KDF played the role of co-designer, lead fabricator, and co-operator of the project.
Stake Bed, 2026. Design, fabrication, coating, and installation of a custom flat bed with stake sides on a 2026 F350 Super Duty Cab Chassis.
Hand Rail. A 65' seamless steel handrail follows the natural curves of an existing stone staircase. Anchored to existing rock and poured concrete footings.
Snowcat Crew Cabin, 2025. Commissioned by High Sierra Snowcat and Yurt to design, fabricate, and install a cabin for a Piston Bully snowcat to carry 12 people on cat skiing adventures.

Fireplace screen, Tamarack Lodge, Mammoth Lakes, CA. Completed under the employment of Mammoth Mountain Ski Area. Scope: Design, fabrication, and installation of a fireplace screen that fit as if it were always part of the lodge, built in 1924. Doors open to allow feeding the fire without moving the screen.

Motorized Lifts for Retail Trailer Door. Completed under employment at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area. Scope: mechanical design, electrical design, fabrication, and installation of a system of electric linear actuators to open and close the doors of a retail trailer in alpine conditions.
Magnetic Anomaly, Ned Kahn Studios. 12' aluminum square tubes hang on bearings from the ceiling and rotate. Scope: design and prototyping of bearing mounts, motor controls and programing. Production machining by Mendo Machine, installation by others.

Whimsical Ball Tower was commissioned in 2026 for Woolly’s Adventure Summit at Mammoth Mountain to provide an interactive experience for kids and adults alike. Inspired by the areas mining history, the 10’ tall machine features a hand crank elevator to take wooden balls to the top, where they follow a maze of chaotic sound and motion elements on their journey back to the base.
